Are You Prepared?

Considering the worldwide weather issues with snow in…what does that say? Florida? What will they think of next. Oh, sorry about that, this crazy weather stuff has me a little distracted. Or maybe it’s how busy I am…

Anyway, as I was saying, considering the worldwide crazy weather including snow in places like the Southern US, Jerusalem, England, and many other unusual areas, I decided to write a blog post on preparation.

As a citizen of the Northern US, I can tell you rather knowledgeably how to drive most safely on snowy, icy, and slushy roads. I could even tell you that 1-2 inches of snow is like 100 degree weather to Texans. No big deal. So-called “extreme cold” (meaning below freezing) is nothing. To us, that’s a heat wave. But, to be on the sa

fe side, you should always keep a pair of boots, warm gloves or mittens, a warm coat, and possibly a blanket or sleeping bag in your car. Just in case you get stranded in a snow bank for awhile.

Now, some of you may be wondering: Why in the world is Faith writing a blog post like this? It isn’t about writing, it isn’t about God, it isn’t even about books. What is the point?

I am so glad you asked. I am leading up to that. This evening, I saw this picture on Facebook and it got me wondering:

Are you prepared?

Are you prepared? Not for snow. Not for the cold weather. Not for the ice storms. Not for the bad weather. Are you prepared for Jesus to come? How do you know that you are prepared? If you aren’t prepared, how do you get prepared?

Steps for preparation of Jesus’ Second Coming:

Believe that God exists, that sin is real, and that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and then was raised from the dead on the third day (Genesis 1:1, Genesis 3, John 3:16-21, John 19, 1 Corinthians 15:3-6).
Repent of your sins and purpose to give Jesus Christ Lordship over your life (Acts 2:38, Acts 16:30-31, Romans 12:1-2, Titus 3:4-8).
Live a transformed life, not of your own will and doing, but with God’s leading a guidance (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Peter 2:21-25, Ephesians 1:13-14, 18-23).

Do you know that Jesus Christ is your personal Savior? Does your life show the fruit of life in Christ (Galatians 5:22-24)? For a more thorough explanation, read this blog post.

So, I ask again, are you prepared? How do you know that you are prepared? If you are not prepared, will you act on these steps? With the weather, we can typically predict when a storm is coming in. With Jesus’ coming, we only know that it will be soon and it could be today. Are you ready?
