I have joined a wonderful, and fun sale! Both of my books will be $0.99 for at least one week and there will also be other Clean, Independently published authors putting their books on sale. Some will be free, others will be $0.99. And as an extra bonus, there are a few books going on sale a little early. Click the picture above to go to the website. The early bird sale starts tomorrow and the Fall sale is from October 5 to October 11. Don’t miss out!
Kylie Wilde is the youngest sister–and the most civilized. Her older sisters might be happy dressing in trousers and posing as men, but Kylie has grown her hair long and wears skirts every chance she gets. It’s a risk–they are homesteading using the special exemptions they earned serving in the Civil War as “boys”–but Kylie plans to make the most of the years before she can sell her property and return to the luxuries of life back East.
Local land agent Aaron Masterson is fascinated with Kylie from the moment her long hair falls from her cap. But now that he knows her secret, can he in good conscience defraud the U.S. government? And when someone tries to force Kylie off her land, does he have any hope of convincing her that marrying him and settling on the frontier is the better option for her future?
Tried and True was an interesting book. Before I read it, I saw a blog post on another blog by the author explaining why she wrote the book and where she got the idea for this series. The idea for the series sounded intriguing, and the synopsis for the book did as well. So, when I got the email from Bethany House asking for reviewers, I chose hers. Even though I’d gotten her first book about a year ago and didn’t like it, I decided to give her another try. This book was definitely an improvement on that first book, but I still had some issues with it. Continue reading
Wasn’t that blog tour fun? I know I had fun. But I’m sure y’all don’t necessarily care. You mainly want to know who our two lucky winners are. Well, our lucky winners today are…
Congratulations to you both! I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading the books! Either Shanna or I will be emailing you soon. Random, fun fact: Anna and Aundy both have some similarities. They are both unconventional women and they are both taller than most women.
And since there were only three entries, I didn’t want to leave Miss Theodora out. Theodora will be receiving two lovely desktop backgrounds created by Perry Elisabeth.
Don’t forget that you can preorder “Be Thou My Vision” all the way up to the publishing date. On October 26th, the price goes up to what will be the regular price: $2.99.
And if you haven’t read the first book, “A Mighty Fortress”, it isn’t necessary to read first, but it does give a little bit of back story. Also, be on the look out for updates on “Amazing Grace”. To get the full story, from “Be Thou My Vision”, you will want to read “Amazing Grace”. Lord willing, that book will be coming out early 2015.
Today’s blog post (although a little late) is another sneak peek. Head over to the However Improbable blog (isn’t that a fun name?) and check it out. In it you can read some of Anna’s innermost thoughts.
Today’s stop on the blog tour is at Ophelia’s blog. She’s a friend of mine from Holy Worlds and offered to post a guest post from me. So I wrote up a blog post about writing sermons since I did that two or three times in Be Thou My Vision. Check it out! And the giveaway is still open until Monday (September 22, 2014) at midnight, so if you want a chance to win, you better enter now. So far there are only 3 entries.
I am a guest on Annie Douglass Lima’s blog today talking about some of the research I did for Be Thou My Vision. Check it out here! We still only have one entry in the giveaway, so feel free to share the giveaway with people and enter it for yourself. It really isn’t that hard to enter. Just comment about your favorite Western movie, song, or book, or you can ask me a question or make a comment about something I said in one of the posts.
On stop #3 today, we go over to Onisha Ellis’ blog and share an excerpt. This scene was really fun to write, mainly because the boy is mute and Anna doesn’t know that at first. Go over to Onisha’s blog to find out how she reacts.
And make sure you enter the giveaway. There is only one entry so far, so your chances of winning are very high. 😀
