June 2018 (and a cover reveal!)

Is it just me or did May just completely fly by without hardly touching the ground? I cannot believe we are already into June. What’s even more unbelievable is that Bill and I will have been married 9 months tomorrow. How can time have gone by so fast?

Anyway, enough about that. This post is about goals, so I should probably get to those. I got almost all of the goals done. Here’s the complete list:

About the Series

Genre: Christian Western Coming of Age

Logline: Through God’s leading, four orphans grow up to be important members of their communities.

The Orphans of the West series is a continuation of the stories of 4 orphans that were introduced in either a Hymns of the West novel or novella and goes through each orphans life.

Savior, Like a Shepherd is about Titus Hine who was introduced in Blessed Assurance (Hymns of the West Novellas #6) and how he must take care of his sister and brother as winter approaches, all while not being allowed to work anywhere.

All the Way is about Henry Salisbury, the only orphan in the series not directly introduced in a previous book, but it has other characters you will recognize from the books about the Brookings family.

He Hideth My Soul is also attached to the Brookings family and Otis Miller as Otis finds out that his grandfather left him a large inheritance and he can finally follow his dream.

He Leadeth Me takes up Gage Wilhelm’s story. Gage was introduced in I Love Thee (Hymns of the West Novellas #1) and tells how he is given the deed to his farm and told to go back to his farm. Gage gladly accepts only to have someone show up claiming his long-dead father owed another man a large sum of money and now there’s 10 years of interest added on.

Novella Cover Scavenger Hunt

Who doesn’t like a scavenger hunt? I suppose it depends on the kind of scavenger hunt, but today I’m here to reveal the covers for my three upcoming novellas.

Each novella will be published this summer. One on June 26th, one on July 26th, and the last one on August 26th. To reveal the covers, I have a scavenger hunt set up. I have a few clues for you and then once you find the covers, you can fill out the form below to enter a giveaway for a $25 Amazon Gift Card! Each cover you find will get you four extra entries. Entries will be closed on June 10th and the winner announced on June 11th.

Upcoming Cover Reveal

Are you on Facebook? Yes? Great! Come join me for a super fun party we are calling “Stories for a Family Gathering.” It is for a friend of mine who is finally releasing all of her books in print as well as eBook. I am organizing it, so I’ll be there most of the party, but we also have 6 other authors coming to join in on the fun. The Facebook party will be April 23 from 1-4:45 Central time.

The part I’m looking forward to the most at the moment is the cover reveal I am planning to do at about 3:10 during the party. Only a very few people have seen the cover and I haven’t leaked the information about what I am writing and releasing in May either. Of course, I do realize that many of you may not be on Facebook, so I won’t leave you in the dark for long. If you can’t make it to the party, I will also post about the project, and the cover, on my blog that Monday, April 25th.

Today, I’m excited to announce that I have not only an official release day, but also a cover for The Solid Rock, AND it’s also Joshua Brookings’ birthday!!
