November is over and December is already almost halfway done. Where does time fly? I don’t remember if I mentioned it on here or not, but I did NaNoWriMo again this year. And won with just over 60,000 words. I did not write a novel, however. I finished one novella and wrote two others. I am very excited for all of these novellas. Continue reading
Today is the day! Technically, Lily of the Valley released on Thursday, but today and tomorrow are the days of this blog tour. And yes, I’m hoping the Cyber Monday excitement will help generate a little more attention to my book. 🙂 But, before I get to that, I have some exciting things happening. Be Thou My Vision has been free since Thursday and on Friday, I had some really big numbers for all of my novels.
Be Thou My Vision made it up to the #3 slot on Amazon Free books. I had it advertised on Bookbub (the hardest promo site to get in) on Black Friday. Continue reading
Do you know the Looney Tunes shows with Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd about Rabbit season and Duck Season. Just to refresh your memory:
Well, lately it seems like this is Busy Season and I feel like saying, “SHOOT ME NOW! SHOOT ME NOW!!” It all started on my birthday. Then ten days later with my brother’s birthday, plus a bunch of things in between. Then there’s the book release (LILY OF THE VALLEY WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THURSDAY!!), Mom’s birthday, Thanksgiving, Dad’s birthday, and other activities in between. And I’m trying to do National Novel Writing Month, amongst all of this. I’ve been pleasantly surprised that I have actually been able to stay ahead in getting my 50,000 words.
Despite all the busyness, I figured I should give my readers a little update instead of just posting blog tours. So, here goes. Continue reading
It’s my birthday! Almost. Technically it won’t be for two more days. But instead of you giving me presents, I’m giving you one! Amazing Grace is currently free for three days to celebrate. 😀 AND, A Mighty Fortress is on sale for just $0.99! So if you don’t already have a copy, pick one up today!
In other news, Lily of the Valley is now available for preorder in both paperback and ebook! To get an ebook copy delivered to your kindle on November 26, 2015, go here and preorder your copy. If you would like a paperback copy, email me at faith.blum.author[at]gmail.com and tell me how many you want. The paperbacks will be $15.00 + shipping. I also ordered the proof copy yesterday!!!!!! 🙂
Fun fact: Be Thou My Vision is now almost exactly one-year-old. It was published on October 26th of last year. Time sure does fly, doesn’t it?
Fun fact #2: I just had my first 10,000 word writing day yesterday. What does that mean? It means I wrote 10,000 words in one day. Not by hand this time, though. And yes, I am a little excited about it.
And as a bonus birthday surprise, we’ll do a giveaway! Answer the question below to enter to win a paperback copy (US only, if you are international and win, you can have your choice of two ebooks) of your choice of my books, including Lily of the Valley. The deadline for the entries is midnight Central time on October 26th and the winner will be announced on October 27th.
What is your favorite birthday gift?
I know my answer for this year. My favorite birthday gift would be for Amazing Grace to reach #1 in at least one genre category and in the top 100 free books overall on Amazon. An extra bonus would be to reach at least 20 preorders of Lily of the Valley. A girl can dream, right? 😉
Today is finally the day! Thank you to all who participated either by entering the contest or being part of my cover reveal. I really appreciate it! There were seven entries total and random.org chose the first of those entries! So, our winner is…
Congratulations, Raechel! As soon as the paperback books are available, I will email you for your mailing address and mail you your very own copy of Lily of the Valley.
Today we have a blog post with a cover reveal. But, there’s a catch. I have split the cover into 15 different pieces! In order to enter the giveaway, you need to put it together and email me your cover. Or, if you don’t want to enter the giveaway, but you’d still like to see the cover, stop by my blog on Friday.
The winner will have to be patient, but the prize for this cover reveal is a signed paperback copy of Lily of the Valley. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of shipping internationally, I won’t be sending a paperback outside of the U.S. If you are international and would like to participate and win, you will receive an ebook copy of any TWO of my published books including Lily of the Valley. How do you like that for a title? I know most people prefer the sad news first, but I’m going to make you wait because I can’t wait to share the exciting news with you.
If you’re on Facebook, you may have seen my update about the rough draft of The Solid Rock. But, for those of you who are not, here’s the news. Continue reading
A blogger friend of mine recently did this challenge and tagged anyone who hadn’t done it and who wanted to do it. So here I am!
These are the rules:
- Go to page 7 of your WIP
- Scroll down to line 7
- Share the next 7 sentences in a blog post.
- After the excerpt, tag 7 other writers to continue the challenge.
As I mentioned in my last blog post, I am currently editing and writing, so I have two Works in Progress (WIP). Because of this, I will actually post TWO excerpts. 😀 One will be from Lily of the Valley which I am editing, and the other from The Solid Rock which is being written pretty much as we speak. 🙂 Enjoy!

Wow. The last four weeks have been a whirlwind and very different. First, I published Amazing Grace on Kindle, then I finished the rough draft of Lily of the Valley and the editing of I Love Thee, next I had problems with the paperback for Amazing Grace. Through all of this, I resigned from my job, giving my boss a four week notice.
Yesterday was my last day working there and today is my first day of being home full-time to write full-time. It’s an exciting time and I am so thankful to have a supportive family. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do this at all. So, thank you Dad, Mom, Lydia, Naomi, and Seth!
I’m really looking forward to what God has planned for me, but I also know I’m going to need accountability and support. If you would like to help hold me accountable, please email, Facebook message, or call me (if you have my phone number) and I would love to talk with you to figure out a way for you to hold me accountable. If you would simply like to support me you can either send me money (just kidding!), pray for me (requests listed below), or send me an encouraging note somehow at various times. Thank you! Last week I ran a sale on two of my books. It was awesome! Checking the sales dashboard was a little bit addicting. Anyway, I thought I would share a few stats and other numbers before I take Ashlee Willis up on her 777 challenge and share an excerpt from Lily of the Valley.
Be Thou My Vision was free from March 16-20. During that time, I paid for four promos and definitely saw results from each of them. Total, I gave away 7,460 copies during the 5 day promotion and was #1 & 2 in the Christian Westerns category for at least four of those days. And I already have five new reviews!! I also had 20 borrows and 4 Kindle books sold after the free promo was over. Continue reading
